28 March 2020 – 3 May 2020
Monday to Saturday 10-5pm, Sunday 12-5pm
RSA Upper & Lower Galleries
Please note, due to situations arising from Coronavirus (COVID-19) the Royal Scottish Academy will be closed to the public until Thursday 30th April at the earliest for the safety of our staff and visitors. This means we will no longer be able to install the RSA Annual Exhibition this year.
We hope to be able to showcase works online and through social media in some capacity so you can see some of the fantastic art and architecture works we were hoping to exhibit. Please keep checking this webpage, our Academicians’ Gallery site, facebook, twitter and instagram in the meantime to keep updated and visit our Contact Us page if you would like to get in touch.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
The 194th RSA Annual Exhibition
The RSA Annual Exhibition is a focal point of the RSA programme, showcasing work from RSA Academicians the length and breadth of Scotland. Now in its 194th year, it continues to provide a platform for contemporary painting, sculpture, film, printmaking, photography and installation, alongside work by some of the country’s leading architects. This year’s Convenor is Graeme Todd RSA, assisted by Deputy Convenor Henry McKeown RSA.
After its hugely successful re-introduction in 2019, the Open Art element will return once again as a vital component of the exhibition, alongside it’s Architecture counterpart.
Artists invited by the Convenor include: Liz Adamson, Maria Chevska, Steven Cox, Angus Hood and Richard Walker. In addition the Hanging Committee have each invited the following artists: Rory Donaldson, Patricia MacDonald, Leena Nammari, Naomi Ojima, Toby Paterson and Iain Patterson.
The majority of works will be available to purchase. The RSA is part of the Own Art scheme, allowing you to spread the costs over 10 monthly instalments. Please ask for further details.
