A major event in the Scottish visual art calendar, The Scottish Portrait Awards are open to anyone over 16 born, living or studying in Scotland. The Awards judges are seeking ‘diverse and well-executed works that inspire, excite, raise questions, entertain, deliver an emotional punch, and/or force us to look at ourselves and others differently.’
The timetable for nominations and announcement of winners comprises the announcement of the Photography Shortlist on 31st October, then on Friday 1st November the winners of the Fine Art Shortlist will be announced, with the announcement of Award winners at a special event on Wednesday 13th November, attended by ArtMag.
The exhibition, showing work by Awards nominees, opens to the public in Edinburgh at the Scottish Arts Club (2nd November – 30th November), and travels to the Glasgow Art Club (Thursday 16th January 2020 – 15th February), and the Kirkcudbright Galleries, (14th March – Sunday 24th May).
